DIESEL SHUNTING ENGINES
Series 91-00
In 1961, an old two-axle diesel locomotive Deutz, that had previously been used as a mining tug, was reconstructed and took over the shinting activities at Velingrad station.
In 1970, two nearly unused 600mm-gauge diesel locomotives were delivered from the GDR for reconstruction. They had previously been used at the "Brezhani" mine. After a conversion to 760 mm, in 1971 they overtook all shunting activities at Velingrad.
Series 92-00 (80-000 after 1988)
On April 5, 1967 the first specially delivered diesel shunting engine of the series 90-01 was put into operation. It has one cab, a capacity of 385 HP, hydraulic transmission and a type C bogey. It was manufactured by „Henschel“ — Kassel for the Plovdiv International Fair in late 1966. After the end of the fair, the locomotive was inventoried at the Septemvri rail depot, where it stayed unused until April 1967. Its purchase was then arranged. Due to the lack of funding for the purchase of further locomotives, it remains the only engine of its series. It was used for shunting activities at station Septemvri for more than 30 years. At the moment 80 001.1 is left as a reserve at Septemvri rail depot.
Series 93-00
In 1971, three diesel-hydraulic engines were delivered from the Romanian factory „22 August” – Bucureşti. They were designated to the paper and the hydrolysis and fodder yeast factories in Razlog. In the first decade of the XXI century the two still preserved locomotives - 93-01 and 93-02, already property of BDZ and housed at the branch depot in Bansko, were sold for scrapping.
Series 94-00 (81-000 after 1988)
10 diesel-hydraulic locomotives of the series 94 (81 after 1988) were delivered in 1982 from the mechanical plant in Kambarka, USSR for the Bulgarian State Railways and the industry. Four of them were used by the pulp and paper factories in Miziya and Razlog and six were used by BDZ - the engine depots in Septemvri and Cherven bryag received three each. At the moment there are only two remaining locomotives of this series - 81 002.8 and 81 008.5. They are both in regular service and carry out the comlete shinting activities at station Septemvri.
