FREIGHT CARS
The first freight cars for the line were delivered in 1926. They were built at the "NESSELSDORF” factory. They were boxcars, with a compartment for the employee and a big sliding door in the middle on both sides. One tank car was also delivered. Later - in 1935, a new batch of freight waggons was delivered. They were very similar to the first ones and came from the same manufacturer. Five years later, 70 more boxcars, as well as 4 tank cars, were delivered from Germany. In 1943, 50 open gondolas for bulk goods were produced in Dryanovo. 50 more were produced in Dryanovo in 1948, this time with higher capacity. In the next year, 1949, 70 gondolas were delivered from Dryanovo. The same manufacturer produced 20 gondolas and a heating car in 1956. In 1961 - 40 gondolas, Dryanovo again. In the next 1962 (46 pcs.) and 1963 (31 pcs.) – open gondolas from Dryanovo. About 10 years later, in 1972, a new, longer type of gondolas were produced at the "Cherveno zname" factory in Burgas. In 1974 - 11 tank cars. Two years later, 140 more tank cars from the railway factory "G. Dimitrov" in Sofia. In the time 1979-1980, 123 flatcars were delivered from Dryanovo. Two years later, more of the gondolas were produced in Burgas. In 1983, Burgas produced 3 narrow-gauge boxcars. Three years later, the "Cherveno zname" factory also built 1 covered gondola for bulk goods. In the following 1983, 120 boxcars were delivered from Burgas for the freight services on the narrow-gauge line.
This is how the Bulgarian State Railways provided the necessary rolling stock for the needs of the increasing freight traffic on the narrow-gauge line from Pazardzhik and Septemvri to Dobrinishte. One can see the scale of the indutry by the mentioned numbers.
